Zero-G Flight Experiment: Visual Servo

NASA scientists, engineers, and researchers use the reduced gravity environment in the Zero-G aircraft to test space-flight hardware, space craft components, and space-flight procedures.  A reduced gravity environment inside the cabin is created as the plane flies a parabolic path while controlling the acceleration parameter.

In July 2011, WVRTC and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center combined efforts to perform a micro-gravity flight experiment to test the autonomous approach and capture algorithms in a relative environment.  A free-floating payload was targeted with replicated features seen on the aft end of a satellite.
